A New Role to Drive Growth
The Global Underwater Hub (GUH), the top trade and development body representing the UK’s £8 billion underwater industry, has announced Ricci Boston as its new North England regional manager. Based in Newcastle, Boston will play a pivotal role in expanding GUH’s membership base and increasing engagement amongst existing members in North England. His responsibilities will also extend to developing strategic relationships across the region and promoting GUH’s initiatives and growth in the underwater sectors.
Boston’s Background
Before his appointment at GUH, Boston was the Director of Strategy and Client Engagement for a significant provider of engineering and management services to the energy industry. In the past decade, he successfully managed, mobilised, and project managed high-revenue projects across various sectors, including oil & gas, power generation, renewable energy, construction, and engineering.
GUH’s Reach and Goals
As a UK-wide organisation, GUH has member companies located across the nation. Boston will be specifically responsible for supporting businesses in North England, covering an area from the Mersey in the west to The Humber in the east, and north to the Scottish border. The organisation’s primary objective is to accelerate the development and internationalisation of underwater technologies and deliver exponential industry growth.
GUH, which transitioned from Subsea UK in 2021, has a well-established base in Aberdeen, Scotland. The Newcastle office is set to open in late summer, with a Bristol office scheduled for later in the year. The refurbishment of the Newcastle premises in the Walker area is nearing completion, expected to be ready by mid-July.

GUH’s CEO, Neil Gordon, also welcomed Boston’s appointment, appreciating his experience and strategic expertise in the renewable sector. He expressed confidence that Boston’s leadership would further strengthen the sector and position the UK at the forefront of the global industry.
